Hope For A Good Prognosis- a poem
46When a person is diagnosed with cancer, follow up with the medical oncologist is so important for one to go through. The choice between physical altering surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy is a difficult thing to make. Only with diligent attention to a physician's care and recommendations, life changing decisions are crucial, especially because one faces the truth and the desire to extend longevity. Faith is so important as much as family support. This is a reflection of how a daughter bears the truth of what a Dad is facing.
And let God
This is how
It has to be.
Only a medical
Physician is trained
To treat what
Is seen with
The naked eye
Via transmission
Of the MRI.
Will my
Daddy heal
In the Wait
When we
Let go
And let God?
What can we
Anticipate?
But only the
Joy that comes
From the hurt
Of knowing
That the condition
Of this flesh
Is only
Temporary.

Thank you epi. I have been going with my Dad to the Doctor as his companion as he has been undergoing Radiation treatments for the tumor in his lower leg. And this poem was inspired by that experience. Read my hub called "I'll Always Be There For Daddy". These experiences have drawn me closer to my Dad to the point that I can feel his mental uneasiness at times.
